In an Ear Curation Design session at Samma Charles Art, clients have the opportunity to work with their piercer, Bri, to create a unique and personalized ear jewelry design. During the session, Bri will guide the client through all jewelry options and piercing placements that would suit their anatomy and flow together to create a cohesive and aesthetically pleasing look. Rather than simply selecting individual pieces of jewelry, the design session aims to create a harmonious and balanced composition that takes into account the client's lifestyle, personality, and taste. The end result is a customized Ear Curation Design for either one or both ears that reflects the client's unique style and personality, while also considering the practicality of their day-to-day activities.

At Samma Charles Art, we use a unique method for laying out piercings that will take into account the anatomy of the ear and the client's desired aesthetic. The ear is split into three equal sections using a curve that follows the inner curve of the ear, allowing us to determine the best-suited placement for piercings that work together harmoniously. This method ensures that the piercings are balanced and complementary to one another. Additionally, we also consider any anatomy-dependent piercings, such as daith or rook piercings, to ensure that they are placed in a location that is both suitable and safe. In some cases, if the client's anatomy doesn't allow for a particular piercing, we may suggest an alternative that provides a similar effect or propose something new and exciting to add to the overall design. By taking a comprehensive approach to piercing layout, we can create a customized design that is unique, balanced, and tailored to the client's preferences.

The front of the jewelry can be made from any of the available materials, giving clients the freedom to select the aesthetic that best suits their personal style. With Synthetic Diamonds and Gem Stones available, as well as Genuine Diamonds and Precious Stones. Each material option comes with different price points, making it easy for clients to select a design that fits their budget. At Samma Charles Art, we do not typically use rings straight away during the initial piercing process, with the exception of daith and septum piercings. This is because rings can often move around during the healing process, which can delay or complicate the healing process. Instead, we use flat back labrets during the initial healing period. These types of jewelry are more secure and less likely to move around, helping to promote proper healing. Once the piercing has fully healed, clients can then switch to a ring if they desire. Additionally, rings can also create additional pressure on the piercing site, which can lead to complications or discomfort during the healing process. By using flat back labrets during the initial piercing process, we can help to ensure a smooth healing process and minimize the risk of complications.

At Samma Charles Art, we understand that each client has their own unique preferences and comfort levels when it comes to piercings. We offer a flexible approach, allowing clients to choose whether they want to do their piercings all at once or over time. If a client decides to do their piercings over time, we recommend a minimum of six weeks between each session in the same ear. This time frame allows the previous piercing to start healing properly and settle before adding a new one. We also recommend starting with a minimum of three piercings, especially if the client is new to piercings. This allows the client to get used to the healing process and for us to monitor how their body heals. However, the number of piercings is entirely up to the client, and we are happy to work with them to achieve their desired look in a way that is comfortable for them. When it comes to piercings in different locations of the body, we also suggest no more than three to allow your body to heal them all properly.

The cost of a curation largely depends on the type of jewelry chosen and the number of piercings selected. The cost can vary depending on the material of the jewelry, such as Gold or Titanium, and also if we have included diamonds or precious/semi-precious stones, as well as the complexity of the design. Additionally, the more piercings included in the curation, the higher the cost will typically be. On average, a curation can cost around $2500, which includes all the necessary piercing fees, jewelry, and aftercare. However, it's important to note that there are different payment options available to accommodate various budgets, we do not have to do all piercings at the same time and can spread them out and your piercer can discuss these options with you to find a suitable arrangement.

At Samma Charles Art, we understand that deciding on the placement of a piercing can be a big decision. That's why we offer the flexibility to change the location of your piercing at any point before it's performed. On the day of your appointment, our piercers will take the time to discuss your desired placement and ensure you are comfortable with the location before beginning the piercing process. If, at any point during the consultation, you decide you'd like to adjust the placement, we are always happy to make sure you are 100% satisfied with the new location before we begin the piercing. Our priority is to ensure you are happy with the final result and feel confident in your new piercing.
