Terms & Conditions

Applies to all artists at Cult of Samma. These terms apply to all bookings made with Cult of Samma and its artists. By confirming your appointment and paying your deposit, you agree to the following policies.

1. Booking & Deposits

A non-refundable deposit is required to secure all appointments. Deposit amounts vary by artist — please refer to your invoice for details. Deposits secure your appointment date and time, not the overall project. Failure to pay the deposit by the deadline will result in the appointment being released.

2. Cancellations & Rescheduling

Deposits are non-refundable under any circumstances. Cancellations or postponements may result in forfeiture of all monies paid. Rescheduling policies vary by artist — please refer to your invoice or contact your artist directly.

3. Payments

Balances are due on the day of the appointment. Accepted payment methods include all major cards and cash. Tipping is optional and at the client's discretion; it is not expected.

4. All Sales Final

All payments made to Cult of Samma — including deposits, session fees, artwork fees, and jewellery — are final and non-refundable. Once a product or service is purchased:

In the rare event that the studio determines a refund or credit is appropriate, this will be issued solely at the studio's discretion and must be agreed on in writing by management.

5. Age & ID

All clients must be 18 years or older. Valid government-issued photo ID is required at every appointment.

6. Health & Safety

Clients must disclose any medical conditions, allergies, or medications that may affect tattooing or piercing. The studio reserves the right to refuse service if a client appears under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Clients must follow aftercare instructions provided by their artist.

7. Copyright & Intellectual Property

All artwork, designs, and photographs created by the studio remain the intellectual property of Cult of Samma and/or the individual artist. Clients are granted personal use of the design only. Reproduction, commercial use, or distribution of artwork without written permission is strictly prohibited.

8. Client Data & Privacy

We collect only the personal information necessary to safely and legally provide tattoo and piercing services. This may include: contact details, medical disclosures, appointment history, and reference photographs.

Personal data is used solely for appointment scheduling and confirmations, health and safety compliance, record-keeping required by local regulations, and studio communication related to your booking or ongoing work. Your data will never be sold, traded, or shared with unaffiliated third parties for marketing or commercial purposes.

We may share required details with payment processors and legal or regulatory authorities only when required by law. All records are stored securely. We retain personal data only for the period necessary to fulfil legal or operational requirements. For full details, please see our Privacy Policy.

9. Photography & Media

The studio and its artists reserve the right to photograph work created in the studio for use in portfolios, exhibitions, publications, and marketing. Clients who wish to remain unphotographed must request this in advance; approval is at the studio's discretion.

10. Studio Liability

Tattoos and piercings are permanent procedures and carry inherent risks. The studio takes all reasonable precautions but is not liable for adverse reactions, fading, scarring, or variations in colour and healing. Clients accept full responsibility for following aftercare and acknowledge results may vary. Liability for any claim is limited to the amount paid by the client up to that date.

11. Aftercare & Touch-Ups

Aftercare instructions will be provided by your artist. Touch-up policies vary by artist — please confirm at your appointment. Touch-ups due to client negligence (e.g., poor aftercare, sun damage) may incur additional charges.

12. Personnel

In the event of illness or incapacity, the studio will reschedule your appointment at no additional cost. Assistants may be present or involved in photography, video, or support during sessions.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the country in which the service takes place — England and Wales for Oxford, United States (Massachusetts) for Boston.

14. Entire Agreement

These terms represent the entire understanding between client and studio. No modifications are valid unless made in writing and agreed by both parties.
